About Bona Bona Game Lodge
In the Tswana language, Bona Bona means "to look or to see". Our aim at Bona Bona is to ensure that you never forget the Fauna and Flora as well as the tranquillity of the African bush. Conveniently located on the N12 Treasure Route, 2 and a half hours drive from Jo’burg Bona Bona is “NATURE on your DOORSTEP.”
The one-of-kind Bona Bona invites guests to rest and relax in a setting that celebrates the sights and sounds, the people and the memories of a piece of Bushveld in South Africa. Welcome to an experience you will never forget.
Comfortable accommodation is offered in 14 separate, luxurious thatched chalets. Each chalet has an en-suite bathroom which is fully serviced daily. Our lodge is ideal for those who wish to experience a peaceful breakaway or stop-over in a relaxed, awe-inspiring natural environment.
Each of the 14 luxurious room offer spectacular views of the bush surrounding the lodge. Every luxury is at your disposal in all of Bona Bona’s comfortably appointed rooms. Choose between our standard suites, and step out in the nature, or our honeymoon suite decorated with the utmost care.
Should you prefer to be closer to nature; our fully equipped, self catering bush camp will enable you to unwind around a campfire as you listen to the calls of the wild. The camp consists of six thatched chalets with accommodation for twelve people, ablution block and a thatched open air kitchen fully equipped with gas fridge, gas stove, cutlery and crockery.

Bush camp facilities:
• This camp is totally self-catering. A gas stove and fridge, cutlery, crockery, dishwashing facilities, braai facilities and linen are provided.
• 220V Solar power lights in kitchen and rooms with 2 x gas and paraffin lamps and candles. No electricity connections.
• Warm water is available via a “donkey” where under a fire has to be made by the guests. On request Bona Bona will light the fire for guests upon arrival.
• No en-suite bathroom facilities, only ablution facilities, toilet paper supplied by Bona Bona.
• Bring own towels, toiletries, food and liquor, wood and blitz
• Game drives and guided walks can be arranged
